Maybe there's a similar screensaver out there with a different name.
That would be nice. It seems strange to look for a replacement for something you can't find. I'm using a customized distro, but I'd bet my sandles no one wrote a screen saver just for it.
xscreensaver is the standard screen saver package. It should be available even for your distro. It is also very highly customizable. Even though it is older than the others, it was designed correctly, unlike most of the others
I want to minutia activation control (1 minute increments at least), and a choice of more than a blank screen, but overall it's not about features but finding this installed screensaver I know nothing about, i.e., having something on your system that doesn't have a source and doesn't seem to exist elsewhere.

That is possible with every GNU/Linux screensaver or power management software out there, even the one built into the Xorg server. And precision is 1s afaik, not 1m.
Apart from that, I'm very sorry but I have difficulty grasping your meaning. No offense.
There's plenty of screensaver software for any operating system, with "more than a blank screen". What exact feature do you require?
The image in post #1 shows only such features that are readily available for every power manager or screensaver out there.
