searching a book which has an overview over consol commands


hi, i'm looking for a book or guide (book prefered) which has an overview over the most important consol commands. i have used suse from time to time over the last 6-7 years. i'm using gentoo right now. the man pages are quite good however what i miss is an overview. i want get into linux like i was into dos. right now i don't have even a clue over basic things like eg: the linux dir /p command (ls -??)

For a book, Linux in a Nutshell, is what you want to get.

OOoh Oooh! My turn, http://www.unixguide.net/linux/linuxshortcuts.shtml. This one is more for quick little shortcuts like <Tab> completion and other things, still a good read.

Try Unix Power Tools, not only learns you the commandline tools, but also very clever ways of working with them.
