SeaMonkey - Store the email password?
Having a hard time figuring this one out.
I want to store the email password (both smtp/imap) on the local profile, so i don't have to enter it every time SeaMonkey is started.
How can i do this? Tried looking through the gui options, and had no luck with about:config -- can't seem to find a solution through web searches either.
Many thanks..

If you are using SeaMonkey Mail it should ask you for the password when you setup the account or at least the first time you tell it to retrieve mail. Click on the box that says something like "remember password," and you should be set. You may have to do it again the first time you send mail.
If you are using the SeaMonkey browser to view your mail on a mail server, for example, Google Mail, you will probably have to use a third party application like KeepassX.

I'm using the SeaMonkey Mail program, i setup IMAP and SMTP for gmx but there is no "remember password" option when the password prompt appears. That is where i'd assume it to ask if i want to remember the password.
If i close/reopen SeaMonkey, go to the mail client, when i click "get" the password prompt appears, and the same after composing a message. But i really can't see an option to store the password.
Using v2.26.1 if that's any help.

Nevermind, i figured it out. The password manager for the browser, actually handles mail/newsgroups AND website data. I assumed it was for storing website logins! It was disabled by default, to get the "remember password" option to come up for sending and receiving password prompt you have to go to:
Edit > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Passwords > Password Manager
...and then tick "Remember Passwords".
