Seamonkey 1.1.13 installed but old version executes

I went through the steps MozillaZine gave to fiv this problem in general.useragent, but there is no preference shown as 'usen set' (which should be changed to 'Reset').

I then tried to edit the prefs.js file. There are several of them, and they all seem to relate to Mozilla apps other than Seamonkey.

The same thing has happened on two AMD-64 boxes running Kubuntu 8.10, with all the latest updates.

I would try removing seamonkey completely ...and manually deleting any leftover files ie ~/.mozilla, and any other libs or plugins then re-install.
