Exclamation SCSI Emulation in XCDROAST

I am running SUSE Linux Professional 9.2. My kernal is 2.6.8 I have installed and configured xcdroast and it detects both my cd burner, and my dvd burner. It only detects them as atapi devices. I have been reading around on the net and have read that I need to enable SCSI emulation on the drives to have the best performance. I am trying to burn a dvd iso, and it gives me an error message that says I probably have the wrong key for prodvd. I know I have entered the right key. I believe it is because I am trying to burn a dvd with atapi, and atapi according to some of the threads I have read, is not what I want. My question is, how do I even go about setting up scsi emulation for my drives so that I can use them? Thanks!

For 2.6 kernels you do not need ide-scsi emulation, and in fact should not be used at all. I haven't heard of ProDVD but looking at their website I can only guess that you're running it through WINE. I don't think WINE supports CD or DVD burning yet. Try finding a native Linux alternative for your burning needs such as K3B (which does support DVD burning).
