Scripting in gnumeric

Hi all!

Anyone know if there is a way to run scripts (like macros) in gnumeric?

I do serious data processing for my research so I find gnumeric much better than Oocalc, which does have a macros feature (although some VB macros from my office computer don't run on it).

Anyway, is there something like macros for gnumeric?

I read something somewhere about Python interfacing with gnumeric. Is that what I'm looking for, and if yes how do I do that?
