Screwed up install of alsa...

I don't know what i did, but i tried to install the alsa sound modules and messed something up... it's set to modprobe, and it gives me all sorts of unresolved symbol errors and won't load the modules. I'm kinda shaky about what i need to remove from my modules.dep file to keep them from trying to load at startup, because i can't seem to find some of the ones i loaded, and one of 'em has a bunch of extra stuff indented under it, almost like dependencies or something... i dunno, but it scares me to mess with it, since this is my only computer. The modules are: snd-intel8x0, snd-pcm-oss, snd-mixer-oss, and snd-seq-oss... After i get them to stop trying to load, what do i do from there? They supposedly compiled successfully, but they won't work. Somebody who knows about alsa please help me....
