Screenshots of MPlayer or Xine?

Is it possible to take a screenshot of the frame that is paused in either MPlayer or Xine? When I do it through GIMP or KSnapshot, it just shows an all blue screen.

In windows, "print screen" always worked easily for this kind of thing...

Any suggestions?

Both mplayer and xine have internel frame grabbers, have a look at the docs for the details.

This is asked all the time, change your default video output when playing to something like x11 and you should be able to take a full screenshot while its playing or paused, allowing the movie to show in the screenshot.
