are you using kde to handle the screensavers? what screensavers did you install?
hard to say where synaptic installed them to. for me, running redhat 7.3, *.desktop files where kde screensaver gets its listing are located in /usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers and what you need to do is to locate one of the *.desktop files that synaptics might have installed into. maybe something like bsod.desktop or something like that. going at this blind, you could try searching for those files in maybe /usr/local/kde or /opt/kde. if you find them in one of the alternative directories, copy them to /usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers (note that redhat may have changed that location too in redhat 9.0). good luck to ya.
