Screen capturing into avi

Hi There,

My boss would like to get three GUI software presented in 15 minutes during a two days presentation session. I suggested him that it is the best if we make an avi video of them (two of those run on linux only and one is cross platform) since we will have only a windows laptop there so that we can avoid carrying there a linux box. He agreed, all fine until then.

Now I struggle to find a linux tool to create the screen video capture into the file. I saw some reference to vncrec but could not find either the source or binary for OpenSUSE 11.1 (besides that I do not use VNC otherwise so it would be better to use something not requiring a remote connection).

Are you aware of a tool for this purpose what could be possibly used? Oh yes, and the presentation is due on Monday so it feels like time is running out.

Cheers,
Sandor

Hello, this link may be helpful... check out the first two apps on there and also the XVidCap application. I think they may be just what you need.

Can you please stop posting links that are not relevant to Linux. I have noticed that your posts have nothing to do with Linux. This is a Linux forum as you have been informed by other members, so your contributions need to be relevant to Linux. Thanks.
