scp permission denied but have write access

Folder: A
Owner: root
Group: mod
Permissions:rwxrwxr-x

The user is in the mod group.
When trying to upload (or even modifying the existing files inside the folder A) to folder A via a scp client, get "permission denied". But when using a command shell, the user is able to modify, create, delete anything inside the folder A.

Any suggestions?

Can you use the scp command from a command line? I assume that by saying "via a scp client" that you're talking about some GUI application.

Could you share the exact command that you are trying to use?

The scp command works:
scp sample.txt servername:/home/A/

And the user is able to upload the doc named sample.txt but when using a GUI client, it fails with permission denied error.
But using the same GUI client, the user is able to upload to his own home directory just fine.

Are you running the command as root user & is the uploading directory is inside some other users home directory?

I'm running the command as that user and not as root. The directory is not inside another user's directory but simply created under the /home.

It's working now... Not sure why it didn't work yesterday.
Thanks!
