scim with openoffice

hi,

I have installed scim-1.1 on my fedora core 3, and i have open office from the fc3 distribution CD. Before i install scim (tried both 1.0.9 and 1.1.0), open office works fine, but now it doesn't work anymore.

When i launch the open office, splash screen comes up alright, and the window comes up fine too, but i can't seems to click on anywhere in the window, not the typing area, not any buttons or menu. I can move it around though by click the top part of the window.

I am sure it is due to scim as i've tried to uninstall scim and it works fine after that. when i reinstall scim again then the same problem comes back.

hope someone can help

thanks

Re: scim with openoffice

Hi,
Please try open a terminal and execute the following commands:

$ export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none
$ oowriter

Then you may use OOo as normal. This issue is due to a bug of OOo shipped in FC3. If you want to solve this issue completely, please upgrade OOo to the latest version.

Regards
James Su
