Scim/kde

SCIM is only working for Firefox.

It won't work for Konqueror, it won't work for Kopete, it won't work for Kate.

How do I make it work for everything?

I have exactly the same problem. In Konsole if I type "mozilla" then scim would launch automatically with firefox. But otherwise, using "scim -d" or whatever other methods, scim can run (seen in the lower-right corner) but the panel just couldn't be activated with keyboard. I have been searching for a solution for weeks. Really need help here!!

run this command scim-panel-kde -d -f (should only need to run it once ever)
Then make sure you have the input of konqueror to xim. Right click the url box. then you can press ctrl+space to toggle skim on and off like so, 猫 cat. i have scim set to scim-panel-kde and kconfig. there were a few other things I did but they were suse specific and im not positive they did anything. If this doesnt work let me know and ill try to help more. Note that i still cant get skim/scim to work in most apps.
