Hi there!
Welcome to LQ.org. I think you will need to install a few more packages in order to get chinese input with scim. I had scim working "fine" in my Ubuntu system. I said "fine" because scim would not work on every program. For example, I could not type in Korean on aMSN. It worked in Firefox and a few other applications such as Gaim, but not nearly on every application I wish it would. It is a shame, really. But back to your question, check if you've installed these: uim anthy scim-gtk2-immodule scim-uim scim-chinese I think that should be enough. The tutorial I've followed was this one: http://www.mrbass.org/linux/ubuntu/scim/ That won't work on Redhat though. But it will give you an idea of what you need. Good luck! |
