Scheduling tasks?

Hey guys, jw if there's a way to schedule tasks to run at certain times or what not? Is there also any kind of bash command that would delay the execution of a program for x number of minutes or hours, or maybe until a specific time or something? I'd like to use the later as an alarm clock of sorts and I'm sure I could find other uses for it to.

So basically:

1.) How do I schedule tasks in general?
2.) Is there another way to quickly schedule one time use tasks via bash or something similar?
