/sbin/agetty missing?!

ok...so I 'accidentally' uninstalled glibc on my slackware box. I managed to reinstall it, but according to a friend of mine, the 'links' are missing (he didn't see the errors himself.)

On startup, it repeatedly spits out:

"Cannot find /sbin/agetty" and pretty much craps out.

When I try to chroot it with the slackware disk, it does the same thing?

Is it salvageable?

-thanks
