saving video from off a webcam

Hello,

I've been able to get my webcam (Logitech quickcam pro 4000)
successfully working under Debian sid.

I found several software packages that allow me to take still pictures
from the camera and save them to disk as files, but what I can't find is
how to save a continuous film clip.

Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to save a video clip
rather than individual pictures?

Use the program xawtv to create video clips under linux.
