Saving personal user settings

It seems that whenever i try to save personal settings (Specifically with Opera and bbconf) it decides that i dont' have permission for my home directory. An example, is from running bbconf, this comes up and it loads the default from /usr blah blah blah:

Could not open config file: ~/.bbconf/config
Using internal defaults for plugin.

Could it be because i set a seperate partition as the /home directory?

it could be, make sure it mounts the partion b4 trying to read anyhting off it, 2nd look at the permissions just to make sure you can read it

Well, the mount mounts, and it's mounted with rw access (Taken from command "mount") The folders all look like they have permissions for the user. I ended up creating a new user and so far everything works except bbconf...trying to create the file that it's asking for, but i don't know where the "Internal defaults" file is located
