Save output of 'mplayer -speed xx'

I want to play a file in mplayer and slow it down using the -speed option. I tried using -dumpstream but it just copies the file. Is there a way I can output the slowed-down file?

Well I figured it out. If anyone else wants to know, it is:

mplayer input.mp3 -ao pcm:file=/dev/stdout -speed 0.75 > output.wav
