Sane error message?

Sane has been working fine for me until yesterday (8/21/06) when I went to scan a pic that my son drew. I called up sane from Gimp like I always do and I got these weird error messages about some child process from either Gimp or Sane not being able to open Mozilla or Netscape.
Why would these need to open my browser in the first place, I don't know.

I have not tried it again since but I'm wondering what things could have cause this? I don't remember setting anything except for the gamma and contrast in Sane.

Is there an error log for Gimp and/or Sane somewhere? I've tried var/log but I didn't see anything that has to do with either program.

I'm running SuSE 10.0 with Gimp 2.2.11 and sane 1.0.17-0 and xsane 0.991.

browser, child, gimp, mozilla, netscape, process, sane
