SAMSUNG - UnifiedLinuxDriver
Please, get your ACT t...oo..g...e...t..h...e...r....!
First, stop spraying our hard drivers with .gnome-desktop and Desktop directories EVERYWHERE!!!!!! including the /bin and /sbin directories!!!!!
Stop! Stop! Stop it!
Next, please update your UnifiedLinuxDriver to a QT version compatible with the newest libraries found in KDE 4.2! Your QT application, printeradd, no longer works as your outdated libraries aren't compatible...
Next, why the blank are you still installing OLD, i.e. ancient, libstdc++.so.5x libraries???? Again, please stop, stop, STOP It...
Next, I'd very much appreciate if you'd simply hand off the work for these drivers to the Gutenprint team so THEY can RAPIDLY get these drivers into the current versions of Gutenprint. I'd much prefer using Gutenprint, but they need timely and RAPID access to the drivers for inclusion into recent versions of Gutenprint. How long have the CLP-310 and CLP-315 been out now???
Samsung, please get your act t...oo...g...e...t..h..e..r.....!!!!

I don't use the unified driver for anything other than extracting the files to get to the .ppd file for my specific samsung printer. then I install the printer using CUPS along with the extracted .ppd file and it works perfectly well..
/cdroot/Linux/noarch/at_opt/share/ppd/CLP-310splc.ppd
Ranting here about the way Samsung has put together their unified driver won't help, I doubt they wqould ever see the message. it would be more productive to email them directly with your concerns.

Doesn't work here, but I can hear the printer work as it fails to print an image on paper. The printing is totally blank, i.e. the drum apparently doesn't have the image, because no toner is burnt on paper. I tried that process first...

I have both bases covered already... The ranting is apppropriate publicly. Users need to avoid using this driver and be aware of the pitfalls if they do. Furthermore, Samsung needs to help the folks at Gutenprint to get their drivers included into Gutenprint RAPIDLY...

Samsung supports Linux very well. March 11, 2014, they updated some (or all?) of their Linux printer drivers.

This is a very old thread you've replied to. I doubt that the OP is still monitoring it.
