Unhappy samba + windows 2000 and shares

My problem is a little complex.

I want users to be able to login on linux and have data store on the windows server at this time.

User login and there shares are mounted automaticly for them and automaticly umounted.

I have winbind and samba kinda working. User Names and Password work.

Currently using pam extention to create the home directorys so user data is not central.

I guess I am missing something in pam that I require.

have you thought about setting up the linux box to be a domain controller? that way you could write logon scripts for each user that get launched when the user logs on. using a logon script you could write a smbmount command for each user. use smbmount to mount the windows directories on to the linux box when the user logs on. There may be a way to use samba logon scripts without samba being a domain controller but im not sure. you could write a cron job that unmounts all of the smbmounts at the end of the day. just an idea.

Thanks I will look at login scripts to see if it can be done.

Linux boxs are not in the server room space in the server room is not able to be aquired at this time.

It will be when the web server is changed over from IIS to a linux machine but I really don't want a domain controller as a web server if it can be avoided.

These all has to be done with workstations and a windows server at this time.

Anyone with howto or pointers will be greatly excepted. Thanks for the info might point me in the right direction.
