Unhappy samba module problems

I am trying to use the module from CPAN
I installed it and tried to use it in a script and I got the following error.
Can't load '/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux/auto/Filesys/SmbClient/'
for module Filesys::SmbClient: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
'/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux/auto/Filesys/SmbClient/' does exist and permissions should allow access. I'm not sure what the issue is.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
