Samba shares with national chars

I am having trouble with my RH8 box where i use samba to share an NTFS disk (Win 2000 Prof).

I have successfully mounted the disk and have provided options for UTF-8 in fstab which at least make my national characters look alright in Linux (does that matter?).

But when i use samba to share the disk all national characters are mangled. I have tried alot of combinations of "valid chars", "charset" and "codepage" and other options that smb.conf provides although that doesnt seem to make any difference whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

The charset im using is swedish.
