Samba Shares Read Only

I've recently been having a problem where every morning I'll realize that my samba shares are read only when I try to access them from my Windows XP box. I try to reboot Samba and no change. The only thing that seems to work is rebooting the server. After rebooting it appears that all the permissions seem to be working correctly. I can't for the life of me figure out what's going on. I haven't changed my samba configuration in forever. Can anybody help a brother out?

thanks in advance,
