Question Samba shares dying?

Hey guys! It appears as though when my Windows box reboots, the directories on my Linux box that are mounted as Samba shares linked to the Windows box don't work (they freeze whatever application is trying to access them). Is this normal, and if not, what should I do to fix it? Thanks!

First: what ditrobution are you using?
Please check what version of samba is on your computer (to check do the following:
rpm -qa | grep samba
)
and post the reply you get here...
a copy of your smb.conf file would be appreciated

Well I'm using Debian, but luckily I know what version I'm using

l1:/home/armstrong# smbd -V
Version 3.0.4-Debian

l1:/home/armstrong# smbclient -V
Version 3.0.4-Debian

smbfs is also version 3.0.4

Code:
[global]
   panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
   workgroup = fragville.com
   server string = %h server (Samba %v)
   invalid users = root
   log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
   max log size = 1000
   syslog = 0
   encrypt passwords = true
   passdb backend = tdbsam guest
   socket options = TCP_NODELAY
   dns proxy = no
   passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
   passwd chat = *Enter\snew\sUNIX\spassword:* %n\n *Retype\snew\sUNIX\spassword:* %n\n .

[homes]
   comment = Home Directories
   browseable = yes
   writable = yes
   create mask = 0777
