Angry Samba Problem

Hi all,

Just a quick question

I have a slack 9 box, all running ok, i added an old NTFS drive, and mounted. Cool. Works good, problem is, i need to share it via samba.

I added the samba share, and it refuses to mount. The reason being that NTFS is read only on my system, now thats fine by me, read only is all i want, but how do i get around the problem of the mapping not working due not enough access privilidges??

Cheers peeps

Exactly what error message does samba give you? Have you tried exporting its from Samba as read-only too?

cheers

Jamie...

you're trying to mount a networked samba share onto a mount point which is actually located ON an ntfs drive? erm... why?? just mount it somewhere else...

problem is, because its read only, i get an error when mounting
Should i be using mask or somthing????

I can get at it from the local machine
