Question samba printing problem

Dear friends,
I have RedHat 8.0 with samba print server installed on it and more than 250 clients with windows 95/98/nt machines.
I find printing through samba on HP Laserjet 5000n printers on network is very slow as compared with JetAdmin protocol setup.
Please help me on acceleration printing job on samba.

quick help will be appreciated...

Is printing from a computer directly connected to the computer (running linux) faster? I have a (very ancient) HP LaserJet here that takes forever before starting to print, but only with linux. If the problem is Samba, have you tried upgrading to 3.x?
