Samba Permission Denied

Ok, here's whats happening I'm mounting the samba share on a linux box from a linux server using the following:

mount -t cifs //192.168.1.103/pchome /mnt/jukebox -o username=xxx,password=xxx,uid=500,ro

The share does mount and I can browse it with root just fine, but when I try to browse it with the user with that uid, I get a permission denied. I've searched the forums but couldn't find an answer. Maybe you folks will have a solution. I'm running FC6 if that helps.

What happens if you try to mount it as the user instead of mounting as root?
Post any relevant output.
I'm assuming this user has an account on the samba server right, and has a samba password (i.e. smbpasswd <username>)?
If the user has all of the above, does he have permissions on the directory that is shared?
Could you post your smb.conf file?

Trying to mount it as a normal user I get the following:
mount: only root can do that

Could you post your smb.conf file?

Code:
[pchome]
  comment = PC Directories
  path = /home/%u
  public = no
  writable = yes
Some more info...
Here's the permissions to the folder on my linux client that I am mounting the samba share to (before the mount):
Code:
drwxr-xr-x 2 mike mike     4096 Dec  9 16:57 jukebox
Now here's the permissions on that folder after the mount:
Code:
drwx------ 11  501  501        0 Dec  7 23:24 jukebox

What does the %u in "path = /home/%u" resolve to?

Would that be the same user that you are trying to mount the share as?

Just for test purposes, could you post the relevant output from the following command run as your user?

Code:
smbmount //192.168.1.103/pchome /mnt/jukebox -o username=<user-name-here>
Or you can replace <user-name-here> with any of your users as long as you know there password and they have a valid samba user account (i.e. smbpasswd <username>).

You could also see if adding a umask option to your first command would make a difference.

Code:
mount -t smbfs //192.168.1.103/pchome /mnt/jukebox -o username=xxx,umask=0222

The umask didn't seem to have an effect, still permission denied, but I've ran into some other things too. I may just fix that stuff first then I'll get back to this problem. Thanks for the replies.
