SAMBA: Multiple Instances?
 

I know that samba can have more than one netbios name, but they seem to just map to the same information. Could I have different shares on each name?

I have a fileserver for backups and CD serving. Each CD will be served as its own share (loopback isos). I want these shares to appear to be on a different "virtual" server from the backup server, to reduce clutter on each "machine". I guess I am attempting to do something like Apache's Virtual Hosts with SAMBA.

I suppose I could create a 2nd ip address on the same interface (eth0:1) and run a second full instance of samba on there, but that seems like a lot of work. Also, I'm not sure how dhcp can assign two ips to the same physical interface.
