samba kills webserver and reverse

I hav a really odd problem.
I have a debian server, and apache2 on it. I installed Samba, restarted server and samba worked great. But then i found out, that webserver doesnt work any more. Apache didnt run! Then a saw that all the apache files were deleted (apache2ctl and similar) also the www folder vanished.

Ok, i said it must be Samba! Then I install webserver again, and it works. great. I restart server. What happens?
Samba doesnt work. WTF??? Now, the Samba files are deleted (smbd, nmbd) !!

WTF is that? Anyone had similar experiences?

Please Help.

First up, give people more than a couple of hours to respond. Secondly, Samba will not remove all Apache services + directories, and Apache will not remove all Samba services + directories. The only thing that could happen is they have different dependencies that causes one or the other to stop working, or whilst installing through your package manager, it told you it was removing the other, again, probably down to dependencies.

What distro are you running, and how did you install Apache + Samba - from binary packages or from source? I'd suggest looking at your system log files and dmesg to see what's going during startup and whilst the services are running to get a better understanding on the problems.
