Samba ignores user-level assigned default applications
 

Hello,

I use ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list to associate all office document types to my wine Office 2007 installation (I need it instead of Libre because it doesn't interpret some document formatting properly). All types are associated properly when I open files from my drive, but when I access remote windows shares with samba, my associations are ignored and Libre is used instead. This isn't a big problem since I can simply copy the files I need locally, or pick Word/Excel/etc manually by using "Open with other application", but I am still wondering why this occurs, and whether it can be remedied.
