Samba home drive problems

I have a samba 3.0 server set up on my Debian 3.0r2 (kernel 2.6) at home. For some reason, my home drive only maps intermittently. Sometimes I can log onto the domain on my Win XP Pro machine and my home drive is mapped to Z:, yet more often than not, I try to log on and it gives the Windows "Loading your settings" message (I forget the exact wording), then pops up a message box saying my roaming profile could not be found, and it is using my local profile.

This is also happening for another user, on a different Win XP Pro machine, also on my home network, and it is starting to become annoying.

Does anyone know why this is? Has anyone encountered this before? I dn't understand why it happens so randomly.
