no...... how can i do that?? i just did a basic compiling of samba, and i was wondering why the smba directory it in /usr/local/samba cuz every guide that i read so far said that the folder and the config file should be in the /etc/samba .......
but in my case i believe samba is running gr8 from that location i mean /usr/local/samba.... but i keep wondering why ???'
Well if your login is denied to the Win2K box, how about making absolutely sure that you have a valid login/password for that box by using the Win2K user manager. Make sure to post exactly what you're running Samba on, what version, and how you installed it in the future.
well so far i`m using samba-2.2.8a on red hat 9 i have compiled the whole thing like in the guides but everytime i try to get into my win 2k box i denied and the login/pass r ok....... what i noticed when win 2k was asking for the login and pass it says thatthe password is gonnabe send unencrypt i don`t know if that`s the problem cuz win always require the pass encrytp or not???
hey samba is now working fine i can even getinto the win 2k box but i can`t do the same thing from my win 2k i unable to see the pc in my neighborhood.....
