Samba FileServer <-> XLS Issue

hi all..

Installed RHEL 4 Server with Samba Server brings up an dialog window when saving a XLS File with CTRL+S in MS Excel XP Pro saying:

=================
The file 'xyz.xls' may have been changed by another user since you last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do?

'Save a copy'
'Overwrite Changes'
=================

Now.. Nobody has touched this file while I changed it.
Is it a Bug in my Samba Version?

Installed Samba is: 3.0.10.1

Has anyone an idea?
thank you for your answer..
