Samba client hangs
In my /etc/fstab file, I have two Windows Network drives mounted (using samba).
ala //host/STORAGE /mnt/storage smbfs username=me,password=pippy 0 0 //host/TEMP /mnt/temp smbfs username=me,password=pippy 0 0 Now the royal PITA is that 9 times out of 10, the Samba client hangs at this point in the boot. The boot messages are: "MOUNTING SMB FILESYSTEMS:" (and it just sits there forever) Rebooting enough times, it will eventually get past this - but I would like to have some clue as to why this is happenning. -Nick |
Red Hat 9?
It seems there is a problem with smb shares hanging in rh9 I am trying to fix an autofs problem with samba shares and, in looking around, I see that multiple mounts in fstab or even from the console will also hang - in rh9 |
