You don't give us any details here...what version/distro of Linux are you using? What have you done/tried? Can you ping anything on the internet, like "ping www.google.com"?? "ping 8.8.8.8"?? Results?
If your resolv.conf is empty, you don't have any way to resolve hostnames, since you're not pointed to any DNS servers. If you can ping addresses, you just need to populate your resolv.conf with whatever your provider tells you to.

Hai tbOne,
i am on centos 6.5.
huh, you remember my other threads a
i found on a google search that we must supply a user name and password for sakis3g to connect.
all this days i was trying blank user name and pass. so it is saying "failed to connect". last night i tried with
username = username and password=pass and it connected.
any way without modeswitch installed, it connects. i was using the built in switch modem function in sakis 3g. may be that had actually switched the modem from cd mode. any way, ill try the suggestion in other thread.
could you kindly tell the format in which i should add the dns server address 8.8.8.8 (which is google's i think) to /etc/resolve.conf ?
