RXTX Warning: Lock file

Hi, I have a dell Latitude c640 laptop running Zorin 9 Lite, I'm trying to use a FTDI serial to usb cable to link with my megasquirt http://youtu.be/6FsLNFMms40 to my laptop using Tuner Studio software to tune the Megasquirt.http://www.tunerstudio.com/ The problem I'm having is that when the Tuner studio is opened (run the .sh file and terminal is open) I'm not getting a connection , there is an error stating.
Jar Name: TunerStudioMS.jar
RXTX Warning:Removing stale lock file. /var/lock/LCK..0M1
RXTX fhs_lock()Error: creating lock file: /var/lock/LCK..0M1: File exists
RXTX fhs_lock()Error: creating lock file: /var/lock/LCK..0M1: File exists

I tried this same thing on my dell desktop using Mint and it works fine after figuring out the the prolific cable I had doesn't work with Linux, but the FTDI does . Please check my other post under hardware.

Have you tried removing the stale lock file first?
Code:
sudo rm -f /var/lock/<name of lock file>
