Running Xwindows on 810 chipset

I'm havin a intel pentium 3 pc with 810 chipset..

I have been trying to install Red hat Linux on my pc for
last one first i succeeded in doing that....i installed
Red Hat Linux 6.1 on my pc...and it worked well except that
i could not set up sound...coz of 810 chipset...

I then chaged my Motherboard....coz old one had some
probs....after that i have tried thousand install
linux....but in waste.....

First Linux didn't get install it used to give mess 15 min
to install......but time for install would increase indefinately and
finally installation would be aborted ......everytime....

Finally it did install....but when i tried to configure....Xwindows
it detected my 810 chipset....and moniter....i.e.SAMTRON 55V
but didn't let Xserver run on my pc....

i have tried all the combinations...but in vain....

When starting....Xwindows....X kills with an error agppart
failed to open 1024 pages......etc....

plsss help me out.....i don't wanna give up using linux

Anyone to help.....

the intel 810i chipset support under linux is very stable. i doubt that your problems with the sound installation are related to the 810i. more likely, it's a problem with your module installations. what kind of soundcard do you have?

you need to check your modules.conf file to insure that the correct driver is being used and installed.

what model of motherboard did you replace the old one with (and what model was the old one)?

and, last question, what errors does X give when you try to start it? you mentioned the agppart errors, is there anything else?
