FINALLY got snmp workin on my box correctly. Now I can monitor all of my interfaces with mrtg.

I upgraded the snmp rpms that came with Rh 7.2 to the latest versions. (the ucd-snmp ones).

After that I tried and tried to get mrtg to work, never happened. Came across a site that offered an interesting solution...erase your configuration files.

So, I deleted snmpd.conf and restarted snmpd and voila! MRTG sees all of my interfaces and things are workin great!

BTW, if you don't want snmp/mrtg there's another nice utility called darkstat that will monitor protocols, traffic, and hosts
