running licq


i am running red hat linux 9 and at first step installation i choose licq, but i dont know i use it ( i mean the licq wont show up)

do you have any idea?

Maybe...open a x-term and at the prompt issue:

$licq

if it prints errors to the console post 'em up.

or use a client that can take advantage of the icq protocol if you have no luck with figuring out the licq error messages.
example, many people will recommend gaim.

you can also use gaim for other im protocols like yahoo and msn
