running Kylix Trouble

HI. I recently installed Kylex 3.x in my Slackware 9.1, but when I run it with sh-2.05b# startbcb shows up:

LC_ALL is set to C. Can't start Kylix.

I modified my /usr/local/kylex3/bin/registerkylix adding:

export LC_ALL=es_ES

What could be the problem?

Thanks for your help.
