running kvm with a 2.6.22 kernel

Hello,

I'm try to get kvm (kernel virtual machine) to run with the following commands:

Code:
stralko@magnum_pi /mnt/kvm $ sudo \
/usr/local/kvm/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 \
-hda win32xp.img \
-cdrom /mnt/kvm/slackware-11.0-install-d1.iso \
-boot d -m 512
Could not initialize SDL - exiting
I have sdl libraries installed (version libsdl-1.2.11-r2). I'm currently running Gentoo:
Code:
stralko@magnum_pi /mnt/kvm $ emerge -pv libsdl

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] media-libs/libsdl-1.2.11-r2 USE="X alsa oss -aalib -arts -dga -directfb -esd -fbcon -ggi -libcaca -nas -noaudio -noflagstrip -nojoystick -novideo -opengl (-svga) -xinerama -xv" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
I'm using the nvidia drivers from the nvidia site and its loaded correctly.

Code:
stralko@magnum_pi /mnt/kvm $ lsmod

I've tried to search google but it wasn't helpful. I'm alittle lost were to look. i'm not sure if a kvm problem or a SDL problem. Let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks,

okay i got it working...when i do:

Code:
stralko@magnum_pi /usr/src/kvm-33 $ su -
Password:
magnum_pi ~ # /usr/local/kvm/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -hda /mnt/kvm/win32xp.img \
> -cdrom /mnt/kvm/win32xp.iso -boot d -m 512
it works, strange that when i log in as a normal user and try to sudo it doesn't work..maybe a permission issue with SDL itself?

Anyways, KVM is FAST. I can't believe how fast it is...compared to Vmware. *Plus* its in mainline so every kernel upgrade kvm will work out of the box i been waiting a long time for this.

Thanks,
