Running eric3 Python IDE

I managed to install eric3 once I'd downloaded all the dependancies, but now I can't get it to run. It comes up with the splash screen with the little troll fella on it, but then doesn't do anything else. It doesn't display the IDE itself or anything. Any ideas?
