Running a perl script

I just downloaded a perl script called multpsx.pl, it is supposed to output some long multiplication questions to a postscript file. However i dont know how to run this file, does it need to be installed or does it need a command to run?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Either you need to make it executable and run it by just typing the path to this file or you can tell your system it's a perl script by doing this:

$ perl multpsx.pl

And of course, make sure you have perl installed on your system and the script points to the correct location for perl.. usually in /usr/bin/
