Which version of Java are you running?
Is the distro 32bit or 64bit?

Same is happening to me. How do I know if it's 32 or 64 bits?

Type about:config into your browser address bar to find out whether the java plug-in is still there. You can also google for a site that will check your version of the java plug-in. If it's gone, you will need to reinstall it.
