Runaway laptop clock. Can't seem to sync. it. Using PCLOS FullMonty

I've never had problems with a 'puter clock before. This is the first time that this has happened. I downloaded all the applications that I could think of to deal with this problem. But no joy!

I assume that this is related to the OS that I'm using, because this laptop's clock always kept good time. I recently installed PCLOS FullMonty, and that's when my time problems started. The clock is running fast.

I installed NTPD, and am running it, and it's using time-a.nist.gov for the reference time. Doesn't seem to do any good.

Any experts on this topic?

Cheers!

Ntp only syncs if it is within 30min or so. Set the time manually using the date commandablnd the restart ntp and alll will be good
