run (shudder) ms office in wine (shudder)


hi all,
im trying to run ms office 2003 in wine on ubuntu 9.04 server
i would use oo but my girlfreind wont so she wants office.
when i do wine WINWORD.exe it just comes up in a dialog saying IOPL not enabled then exits there in no command line output but powerpoint veiwer runs perfectly...
plaese help
