Question Run program on startup

G'day I am a bandnew to LINUX user (well at 55 that is the only thing I am new at) I am runing SUSE KDE and am a Telstra Bigpond user. I have managed to download and install bpalogin and as U can see I am on line. My question is How do I get bpalogin to run on startup rather than going to the terminal and doing a # bpalogin -c/etc/bpalogin.conf

I'm rusty with the Suse file system layout, but I think the startup scripts are in /etc/rc.d/init.d There should be one with a name like init.local or rc.local.

You can add the bpalogin command to it as long as you're not trying to start anything prior to that which depends on the network being available. It doesn't sound like you are since you're manually starting it now.

Congratulations on having access to cable - we shifted house in Brisbane a while back and can only get ADSL here. I drink a lot of coffee waiting for downloads...

One of the possibilities would be to edit your .xsession file.
Before the line where is loaded kde, write this:
sudo bpalogin -c/etc/bpalogin.conf & (I got the impression from what you wrote, that you must load it as a root)
If I'm right you must also edit your sudoers file
