run grpconv error

in my SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, when installing IBM's cluster software, its perl intallation script calls grpconv which returns error,
the log message is:
the gpassword is not supported by this system.

I searched but not find gpasswd file only passwd file int /etc directory.
how can I resolve this problem?

thanks!
